Chambéry is located in the valley between the Bauges and the Chartreuse Mountains on the Leysse River, in the Rhône-Alps region in southeastern France. In town, locals and visitors mingle at the weekly farmer’s market that takes over the town square on Saturday mornings.
In the Haute-Savoie part of the Rhône-Alps region of France, on the northern side of Lake Annecy, lies the town of Annecy. The surrounding wooded mountains include La Tournette, Le Parmelan, and Le Mont Veyrier. Here, you can take a walk along the charming cobblestone streets, admiring the colorful buildings and shops that line the narrow alleys, you will think you might have stepped into a fairytale village.
Chamonix is located at the heel of Mont Blanc, its iconic Vallée Blanche, and history as host of the first-ever Winter Olympics. This has put this charming village on the map as Europe’s premier skiing and climbing destination. Today, Chamonix has six different ski areas, world-class hotels, and a Baroque village with high-end boutiques and brasseries. For a birds-eye view of this quaint village, head up to Le Panoramic to visit Aiguille du Midi.
Nestled at the foot of the French Alps, Grenoble is nicknamed the ‘capital of the Alps’. It is surrounded by soaring snow-kissed peaks and luscious green forests – making the views here, some of the best in Europe.
