The idea of a kitchen-themed box has long been tumbling about in our minds, and this August finally seemed like the perfect time for it- the summer vegetables are still in season, the weather is still beautiful, but we’re just starting to think about the autumn and getting back into a home cooking routine. This box was lovingly curated with that idea in mind. We searched for items that would be as beautiful in your kitchen as they were useful, and everything we included we would honestly love to have in our own kitchens!
Without further ado, here are the contents of the August Stylish French Box! We would love to see how you use these items in your kitchen, so tag us on Instagram, and check out our Reviews page to read others’ reviews or to leave one of your own! And stay tuned for the end of the post, as we have a special announcement…
A stoneware pottery bowl by the Manufacture de Digoin: Fabricated in the Ceramic Valley, deep in the Burgundy region, this bowl will impress you both with its durability and the craftsmanship that went into its creation. You can read more about the story of the Manufacture de Digoin here!
A printed apron by Serie Louise Limitée: The perfect accessory for channeling your inner French chef! This pretty stonewashed linen apron will become your favorite thing to wear in the kitchen.
A Marseille soap by Marius Fabre: One of those indispensable items for any French kitchen, these soaps from Marius Fabre come from a family-owned business in Salon de Provence that still makes their products in the same way as their great-grandfather did a century ago.
This month’s watercolor print: The latest beautiful work by our artist Celine Chollet features a blue-shuttered house in Provence.
A chocolate fondant preparation by Marlette: We couldn’t have a cooking box without including something delicious, now could we? This preparation from Marlette will help you make the perfect fondant au chocolat and has all organic, ethically sourced ingredients.
Three copper cannelé molds: When not using these adorable copper molds to bake cannelés, a traditional Bordelais pastry, we love the idea of keeping them on your counter with tea candles for a French-inspired deco piece.
A copper candle by Hypsoe: Our ideal kitchen would be full of copper, so we’re providing you with a double dose in this box! This candle is created by home fragrance brand Hypsoe, to make your kitchen smell delicious even when you’re not cooking, and the copper container can be reused after the candle is gone.
An antique teacloth: Our brocante item for this box is one that you’ll find as functional as it is pretty. The red-on-white pattern is traditional of this type of linen blend teacloth.
A book of recipes: This might be one of our favorite items in the box, because we’re so excited to share these recipes with you! All come straight from Sharon’s kitchen, made with wholesome, seasonal ingredients, and we can’t wait for you to share with us how you make them in your own kitchens.
