Resident Artist: Yves Damin

We are delighted to announce Yves Damin as the resident artist for the 2026 My French Country Home Boxes. Throughout the year, subscribers will receive a series of four exclusive artwork prints by Yves Damin, selected especially for our Boxes. Each print captures his distinctive approach to watercolor and illustration.

Yves Damin is a French artist and illustrator known for watercolor painting and drawing done directly on location. Born in Lyon in 1973. He grew up in an artistic family. His father, painter George Damin, introduced him early to drawing and observation. This early exposure shaped his lifelong dedication to visual storytelling.

After formal training at the Ateliers de Sèvres and ESAT in Paris, Yves worked in visual communication before fully dedicating himself to fine art. Today, he works primarily with watercolor, gouache, and ink. His technique allows movement, light, and atmosphere to guide each composition.

Yves Damin often paints outdoors, capturing real scenes as they unfold. Paris streets, cafés, markets, parks, and everyday city moments frequently appear in his work. His paintings focus on human presence, architecture, and the quiet rhythm of daily French life.

His artwork reflects a strong connection to place and time. Each piece feels immediate and sincere. Viewers are invited to pause and observe moments that are often overlooked. This approach makes his work accessible and engaging for all art lovers.
