Description
The bridal vase was part of the ritual of wedding gifts given by a close family member, a tradition that was deeply rooted in France from the 1850s to the 1930s.
These vases come in a wide variety of sizes, with gilded or freehand-painted decorations and ornaments such as doves or flower cones.
Almost all are made of white porcelain, in the shape of a shell or fan with a wide-open neck, symbolizing receptivity to celestial influences.
