Jeanne McKay Hartmann: a watercolorist with a love for Paris
You may have noticed some beautiful limited edition watercolors in our boxes, painted for My Stylish French Box by watercolorist Jeanne McKay Hartmann. Jeanne’s love for Paris and flowers make her the perfect fit to be our featured artist for the first year of boxe.
Jeanne McKay Hartmann’s mother always carried crayons in her handbag to keep her daughter’s busy hands occupied. Portraits of Queen Elizabeth, the family dog and flowers drawn on restaurant paper placemats were the artist’s first works. Today she creates commissioned pieces for private clients such as Aerin Lauder and custom paintings for retailers including Seattle’s Watson Kennedy. She is known for happy, vibrant watercolors that capture the beauty of life’s everyday moments.
A native Pacific Northwest girl, Jeanne lives in Seattle with her husband when she’s not packing her brushes and sketchbook for Paris, Nantucket, Sun Valley or other faraway places.
