Carrière Frères: Reinventing candle-making after the industrial revolution
In 1884, the Carriere brothers decided to modernise the candle-making techniques of the 18th century and create longer-burning, higher-quality indoor candles. For their entrepreneurial efforts, they won a gold medal at the 1889 World’s Fair in Paris.
Today, their candles are produced in Normandy using perfumes made in Grasse and wicks that correspond to each perfume for optimal combustion.
The 7 step manufacturing process ensures that the candles’ quality is never compromised.
